Latest firmware version
The latest firmware for your CSW Base V2 is included into the most recent drivers and cannot be downloaded separately. Please connect all Fanatec devices to your PC and power them on before you install the new drivers!
Drilling template - additional information:
When printing the Drilling Template at home, please make sure that the print size is 100% (file size = print size). Therefore deactivate "automatic page scaling" in the print dialog for example.
ClubSport Wheel Base "Bootloop" - Base re-starts itself repeatingly ClubSport Wheel Base startet von selbst immer wieder neu ("Bootloop")

If your ClubSport Wheel Base (V1 or V2) is restarting again and again by itself and being unable to complete the boot sequence you might have forgotten to update your Wheel Base Firmware BEFORE you put on the new wheel rim or wheel hub!

Please always download (from product page) and install the latest CSW Base Driver onto your PC. Start the wheel base without your new wheel rim/hub. Open the driver control panel. Install the embedded firmware by navigating to the "update" tab in the browser. All further steps will be explained there.

This is no isssue. The firmware of the ClubSport Wheel Base evolves continously and has to prepared for every possible new product which can be attached. Additionally we are always working to improve the performance of the device.

  • Please also keep in mind that the driver also contains relevant firmware updates for other devices (as the CS USB Adapter, CSP V3, etc.). Those devices can be updated in the same way when connected by USB.
  • The firmware updates are also important if the hardware is used on consoles! You will have connect the devices to your PC by USB (for less than 5 minutes) to perform the update.

Windows XP support discontinued Windows XP Unterstützung eingestellt

Since Microsoft dropped their own support (April 2014) of Windows XP after more than 13 years we are not longer able to support this PC platform. The last wheels/pedals/shifter driver which supports Windows XP is driver 144. Later driver versions use new software technology which is just not possible on Windows XP.

If your hardware or a new firmware requires a newer operation system we only can recommend to upgrade your Windows operating system to a newer version which will not be outdated for a longer while.

CSW Base V2 does not save settings (Tuning menu values, wheel center & shifter calibration) Die CSW Base V2 speichert keine Einstellungen (Tuning Menu, Shifter- und Wheel Center Kalibrierung), warum?

The CSW (ClubSport Wheel) Base V2 does immediately set all changes and calibration setups which are performed by the user BUT the data will be stored in the constant memory when you turn the device off by pressing the power button and not earlier. Please keep this always in mind!

The wheel base will not be able to save the settings in the rom if you are taking away the power from the unit using another (external) power switch.

Display and LED support on Xbox One (XBO) Display/LED Unterstützung auf der Xbox One (XBO)

Right now there is no support on Xbox One to use LEDs and Display. We just can hope that Microsoft implements these features as soon as possible.

Humming sound while starting Brummendes Geräusch beim Starten bzw. der Selbstkalibrierung

When a CSW V2 is starting (booting up/initializing) you will be able to hear a humming sound for some seconds before it vanishes. This is absolutely normal! The brushless servo motor calibrates itself to minimize the cogging force of the motor to deliver its power/torque perfectly smooth.

Lack of force feedback in wheel center / FFB deadzone?
Sometimes we receive customer complaints about missing "feel" or effects in the wheel center or when driving on straights. These issues brought to us on basis of a fundamental misunderstanding. Let us explain that a bit more:
1. The wheel does not treat the wheel center of effects in the center any different.
2. The game/simulation software has to send effects to the game in order to make you feel something.
The wheel itself does not have any real center in turns of force feedback. It is only one axis from 0 to 900° (or 1080°) and every command is treated equally, no matter in which position the wheel is.
The FFB commands tell the wheel to move either left or right. The wheel itself does not even "know" if it is in the center position or at least that does not have any effect on the force feedback effects. We do not filter any effects when the wheel is in the centered position. We do not alter the effects at all. Therefore, we would expect that the game itself changes the behavior in this situation.
We cannot generate effects which are not sent by the game. The game developer has the option to actually hold the wheel in center and add friction to it (= damper effects). That would prevent from the wheel feeling loose and holding the axis more tightly on higher speeds would also make sense.
The fact that they are not handling force feedback as you wish it would be cannot be solved by the wheel hardware and has to be reported to software developers. We hope that we can make our customer aware that our hardware products are not able to improve the commands sent to it. We can only display the commands and effects received by the wheel bases as detailed, fast, direct, strong and smooth as possible.
Force Feedback wheels have different mechanical friction and various resistance inside the motor (maybe when powered only maybe only when powered off, depending on the electronics). Especially higher grade wheels and wheel bases do have reduced mechanical friction. This will result in a different reception of the effects. Developers often "rely" on the fact that most wheels have quite a big amount of friction. That means that those wheels never feel loose even if there are no effects at all since there is a natural dampening due to the mechanics or the motor. Higher class wheels have a very limited amount of friction without effects, or you can even reduce the friction (DRI - drift mode). If you are using hardware like this, then the hardware is dependent on getting effects from the game to avoid feeling something like an FFB deadzone.
In fact, what you could describe as an FFB deadzone can only be a result of what games are sending to the wheel or even more important, what they are not sending. That applies to all types of Fanatec Wheels or Wheel Bases!
Wheel Base (CSW V2 / CSL E WB) with P1 or UHX does not get detected by the PC Die Wheel Base (CSW V2 / CSL E WB) mit P1 oder UHX wird von dem PC nicht erkannt

If you connect a P1 Steering Wheel or the Universal Hub for Xbox One to a Fanatec Wheel Base (CSL E WB or CSW V2) the wheel base will directly go into Xbox One Mode which is indicated by the green LED on the wheel base. In order to use the Wheel Base on PC you will have to set the device into PC mode.

Please check the manual/quick guide of your steering wheel (P1 or UHX) how to set the wheel base into PC mode.

Press the "Mode" button on the wheel base to set it into PC Mode. The LED will turn red and your PC will be able to detect the device now.

CSW V2 (ClubSport Wheel Base V2):

CSL E WB (CSL Elite Wheel Base):

Which driver version should I choose (32 or 64 bit)? WelcheTreiber Version soll ich auswählen (32 oder 64 bit)?

There is a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of a Fanatec driver available. It depends on the "system type" of your PC which of those versions you need to choose. If the system type of your PC has a 32 bit operation system, you need the 32 bit version of the driver. If the system type of your PC has the 64 bit operation system, you will need the 64 bit version.

For finding this information go to the "Control Panel" of your PC -> "System and Security" -> System:
