What handbrake fits on the Fanatec ClubSport Cockpit Formula?

The Fanatec ClubSport Cockpit Formula is specifically designed for sim racers who prioritize an authentic single-seater experience, replicating the seating and driving position of a Formula car. As such, it doesn’t come with a dedicated handbrake mount, since handbrakes are not used in formula racing. However, it could happen if someone is exploring different racing styles on the same setup.

It’s possible to mount a handbrake on the ClubSport Cockpit Formula, but there are some limitations. Since the cockpit doesn’t include a specific mount for a handbrake, the only way to install one is by attaching it to the shifter mount. The ClubSport Cockpit Formula comes with a shifter mount, which offers a stable base to add a handbrake alongside a shifter, even if it wasn’t originally intended for this purpose.

Currently, we offer the ClubSport Handbrake V1.5, which can be installed on the ClubSport Cockpit Formula by attaching it next to the shifter. The ClubSport Handbrake V1.5 provides excellent performance for sim racers who want to explore rally or drift simulations, offering precise control for braking maneuvers.

Note: Fanatec will soon release the ClubSport Handbrake V2, which is also designed to fit on the shifter mount, providing an updated option for those seeking more versatility in their racing setup.

For sim racers who frequently switch between rally, drift, or GT modes, a more adaptable option might be the Fanatec CSL Cockpit. This one offers better adaptability across different racing styles and provides an ideal base for mounting a handbrake in a more natural position.
