The Porsche Vision GT Steering Wheel is a striking blend of futuristic design and functional performance, inspired by the concept car featured in Gran Turismo® 7. While it's not limited to use in GT7 alone, the wheel has been thoughtfully engineered to maximize the experience within that game. Its button layout is tailored to match Gran Turismo 7’s controls, allowing players to access key functions quickly and intuitively –without the need for complex remapping or adjustments. Whether you're a dedicated GT7 racer or exploring other titles, this wheel delivers a seamless, immersive driving experience.
The four main encoders on the CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT wheel are assigned to the same primary inputs as the four directional sticks on the Gran Turismo® DD Pro and Gran Turismo® DD Extreme wheels:
The primary function of the lower right stick is to adjust the active MFD function. The secondary function is to cycle through all the MFD pages. Because the Porsche Vision GT’s lower right encoder is only assigned to the primary function of the lower right stick, it is necessary to assign the ‘MFD page selection’ to the wheel’s FunkySwitch.
To assign a function to the FunkySwitch, enter the controller settings via the main Options menu in Gran Turismo® 7. There you can locate your Fanatec base (it’s normal that the default steering wheel is displayed). There you should reassign ‘Left button’ to ‘MFD Selection Left’ and ‘Right button’ to ‘MFD Selection Right’.
Once this is assigned, you can cycle through the MFD pages with the FunkySwitch, and make use of the lower right encoder to adjust each page.
Note that not all cars and modes support all rapid-access pages of the MFD. For example, the ‘Torque Distribution’ option is only available in certain AWD cars, and Fuel Mapping is only available in races where fuel consumption is active.
Due to the way Gran Turismo® 7 detects sim racing hardware, the game assumes the PlayStation-licensed Fanatec bases are using their default steering wheels. For example, the Gran Turismo® DD Pro Wheel Base and ClubSport DD+ are automatically assigned with the default wheels from the Gran Turismo® DD Pro and Gran Turismo® DD Extreme bundles, meaning that the Porsche Vision GT wheel only needs a simple FunkySwitch assignment (described above) to make full use of the four main encoders.
However, for the Podium Wheel Base DD1 PS4, it assumes the Formula wheel is attached (part of the Podium Racing Wheel F1® bundle), and therefore the Porsche Vision GT wheel encoders are mostly not assigned when using this base. The quick-access MFD inputs are not manually assignable in Gran Turismo® 7.
