First, you might be new to the sim racing world and you’ve just bought your new CSL DD Ready2Race Bundle, and it has been working flawlessly so far on any game that you’ve played. However, after a while, you may have had some weird glitches on the steering wheel or you’ve experienced that the Fanalab software didn’t recognize the steering wheel anymore.

Now, there can be several reasons for this, which all point toward one aspect: the mechanical USB-C connection between the shaft and the wheel base, and the clamp mechanism.

You should ask yourself a few questions:

• Do you happen to pull on the steering wheel when you get in or out of your cockpit?
• Do you subconsciously pull on the steering wheel, perhaps in difficult corners during an intense F1 League Race?

If the answer is yes, then you should try to avoid doing so, as this can not only damage the pins of the steering wheel but also cause the shaft to get pulled away from the wheel base. If the shaft gets pulled out slightly, it means the USB-C connection between the shaft and the wheel base isn’t secure anymore.

It could also be that, after maybe thousands of virtual miles, the shaft of your wheel base is no longer properly seated.
