1. Switching between different wheel and driving styles
If you frequently switch between different styles of racing (GT, Formula, Rally), a universal hub allows you to attach various wheel rims without the need for multiple adapters.
2. Compatibility with multiple platforms
The Podium Hub, ClubSport Universal Hub V2 and CSL Universal Hub V2 support PC and PlayStation while you will need a ClubSport Universal Hub V2 for Xbox if you plan to use your setup on Xbox, as the other versions do not support this platform.
3. Using custom or third-party rims
In the Fanatec ecosystem, a ‘Wheel Rim’ is a modular component designed to attach to the front of a Fanatec ‘Hub’. Fanatec Rims come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and grip materials and are commonly provided with M5x16 Allen bolts. The Rims can be bolted to other hardware and / or electronics (see below), including third-party products, however compatibility is best confirmed by refering to the Universal Hub's drilling template, which can be found on the respective product page.
