The Fanatec Wheel Hub is a quick and easy way to use third-party steering wheelsand wheel rims with Fanatec Bases. The Wheel Hub consists of two parts – a component that houses the electronics necessary to enable force feedback, and a QR2 Wheel-Side to connect to the Base.
This adapter uses a QR2 quick release; it is also compatible with QR1 (Note: the Fanatec Wheel Hub only comes with QR2. As QR1 has been discontinued, you may need to source an alternative independently).
The following Fanatec Bases are compatible:
There are two basic ways to attach the Fanatec Wheel Hub to your wheel rim or third-party steering wheel: mounting it from the rear, or from the front. Our Quick Start Guide offers a comprehensive overview for both methods.
Front mounting
Rear mounting
Please note that depending on your wheel, it may be necessary to partly disassemble it and mount the bolts from the inside. The number of bolts needed may also differ. Check your wheel manufacturer's documentation for detailed information. If your wheel has dedicated inputs or has a display, you’ll have to use the USB cable included with your wheel or use a suitable wireless connection.
Download and install the Fanatec App (Windows PC required).
After installing the Fanatec App, open it and make sure that your Base firmware is up to date for your Fanatec Wheel Hub to be detected properly. If new firmware is available, a red dot will be displayed next to the firmware icon. Click on the icon to open the Firmware Manager and simply follow the instructions.
The app allows you to calibrate your wheel center and customize your settings. You can adjust your Base settings like force feedback, steering wheel sensitivity, damper, friction, FullForce, and more. Note that the Fanatec Wheel Hub is only compatible with PC, since it does not feature the necessary button inputs for use on PlayStation® consoles.
